Summary:
Materials Management is responsible for assuring that supplies, equipment, and all materials are available for the daily operation of the hospital.
Hours:
- 40 Hours Per Week- Monday through Friday - Day ShiftJob Duties and
Responsibilities:
Work through pricing quotes and negotiations, placing purchase orders and patient charging.
Manage the automated systems to support the materials management functions including:
Maintaining the purchasing system.
Maintaining dictionaries.
Coordinate the inventory process including:
Distributing count sheets.
Assisting with semi-annual inventory counts.
Totaling and inputting of values on hand.
Completing documents for both processing and filing.
Maintain tissue log.
Monitor outdates for freezers.
Coordinate product recalls and backordered items.
Ensure products/equipment are ordered and stocked.
Coordinate equipment repair and loaner needs.
Enter implant usage into patient charts.
Work with billing to set up correct HCPCS codes.
Act as a liaison between physicians and vendor representatives to ensure proper materials and services for upcoming surgical cases.
Oher duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Ability:
Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the U.
S.
Previous experience in materials management in a hospital environment or as a surgical technologist is preferred.
Ability to prioritize and complete tasks timely in a busy work environment.
Ability to relate and work effectively with others.
Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards.
Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for own professional advancement.
Is aware of professional standards and performs in accordance with them.
