Supervises and performs direct and indirect resident care delivery as specified on individual resident care plans and physician orders according to established policies, procedures and objectives of the organization and the established Professional Gerontological Standards of Nursing Practice Code, This position carries with it the responsibility and authority of substaintial input into decisions to hire, fire, promote, demote, assign duties to nursing assistants, evaluate and discipline.
Special Features/Requirements (license, certificates, etc):
Valid Wisconsin license to practice nursing. Follows/adheres to organization, federal/state regulations and guidelines, including Resident/Clients rights, maintains neat, well groomed appearance, adhering to dress code of organization/program.
Essential Functions:
Performs and documents all basic technical and emergency nursing skills within the framework of licensure and as outlined on individual care plans
Documents care delivery observations, medications and treatments promptly and accurately
Provides direct resident care as needed
Requests RN assessment/consultation for residents who show a change of condition
Uses equipment and supplies in a precise, accurate and calm manner
Assumes charge nurse cuties when assigned including, but not limited to, adjusting assignments and schedules to best meet needs of residents and appropriate use of personnel
Under direction of the RN, monitor and document health status of all residents who are unstable or requiring intervention
Participate in care planning
Obtain needed intervention and monitor process or order follow through
Replaces absent staff when necessary
Input into evalution of employee work performance interms of resident care
Staff relations and efficiency of service
On-call status as assigned
Has access to confidential information/records and maintains confidentiality
Projects a positive image of the organization indealing with residents/clients, coworkers, public
Physical Requirements (based on essential functions):
Frequently lifts and carries equipment and supplies weighing 25 pounds. Frequently pushes/pulls medication treatment carts weighing 300 pounds a distance of 600 feet. Frequently twists, stoops, bends; occasionally kneels, squats, climbs stairs; frequently reaches at, above or below shoulder height; 100% of work day is spent indoors, 45 of work day is spent standing, 45 walking, and 10% sitting, occasionally safely lifts and transfers residents weighing average of 150 pounds, with or without assistance. Must be able to communicate orally and/or in writing
With residents, coworkers, families, public
Additional Duties:
Maintain clean work area, transcribing physician orders, answering telephones, stocking of supplies, other duties as assigned.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
